Thoroughbred racing is fascinating to watch, and it goes by so fast for the actual race. The Belmont is just 1.5 miles long. The spectacle of the Kentucky Derby this year was marred by the tragic death of the race horse, Eight Belles. Unfortunately, the risks to the horses in racing are very high. Let's keep our fingers crossed for the Belmont hopefully we can cheer in a Triple Crown winner this year. If Big Brown wins it, there will be celebrations in thoroughbred racing circles, and it will make the front page in many a newspaper, nationwide.
